In a twin-screw extruder, the following parts are assembled on a single frame (figure 1 ):
the screw-torque assembly with heating and cooling accessories (A);
the drive unit (gearbox, torque divider and clutch assembly) (B);
the main motor (C);
devices for feeding the material (feeders, D) or for treating it (e.g. degassing device);
a device for cutting or shaping the extruded material (die), if applicable (E);
