For industrial sectors where the occurrence of a failure leads to unacceptable consequences for those in charge of industrial installations, preventive maintenance represents a maintenance strategy that will minimize the probability of a fortuitous shutdown. Numerous techniques and technologies have been developed to detect and monitor potential failures.
