1. Corrective maintenance

Inevitable, corrective maintenance, "carried out after a breakdown has been detected and intended to restore an asset to a condition in which it can perform a required function" (as defined in standard NF EN 13306), is a form of maintenance that every user of an asset or property is bound to carry out. Its inevitability should not, however, blind us to the fact that this type of maintenance needs to be carefully thought through in order to be optimized. In fact, it's only within the framework of a well-thought-out maintenance policy that we choose to wait for the appearance of a failure before intervening. This implies that every effort will be made to intervene in the best possible conditions:

  • availability of the necessary resources: up-to-date documentation, spare parts, tools and technical resources, etc. ;
