2. Objectives of the players in the packaging chain
Choosing the best way to package a product and the optimum packaging therefore comes down to creating a container/content combination that will enable each link in the "packaging chain" to take full account of its own needs and satisfy its reasonable wishes.
This packaging chain begins with the designer who conceives the packaging project, passes through the raw materials producer and then the packaging manufacturer itself, continues with the producer or importer who will package the product. Then, through the companies that will handle the logistics, it reaches the buyer, then the consumer or user via the various distribution channels. Finally, the end-user passes the emptied packaging on to the relevant departments for collection, processing and, if possible, transformation into a new raw material... (see figure
