4. Guidelines
The packaging department will need to draw up guidelines, i.e. a list of selection criteria, validate them, evaluate the project in relation to current or future similar, complementary or competing products, and rank them in order of importance.
It will also be necessary to compare the various options and assess their suitability, without simply imitating the leaders.
Finally, for a new product launch, you will need to carry out, in chronological order :
an analysis of objectives ;
market research ;
marketing specifications;
a choice of major options ;
a summary program sheet ;
functional analysis, functional specifications...
