3. Manufacture of glass bottles, jars and flasks by moulding

Automated industrial production of glass bottles, jars and flasks is carried out according to the following general process:

  • preparation of the vitrifiable mixture [sand + sodium carbonate + calcium carbonate + cullet (recycled glass) + secondary components] ;

  • melting the vitrifiable mixture in furnaces (oil, gas or electric);

  • thermal conditioning of molten glass for forming ;

  • blank forming then final blowing ;

  • annealing to release mechanical stress;

  • external surface treatments for hardening and lubrication ;

  • functional checks (geometry, appearance, mechanical properties) ;

  • packaging for storage and transport...
