7. Barrier properties
The main interest in nanocellulose has long focused on the mechanical properties of these nanoparticles and the nanocomposites they produce.
However, there is growing interest in the barrier properties of nanocellulose films, or its nanocomposites, due to the tortuosity produced by nanoparticles, as illustrated in figure 11 .
