3. Governance and sustainable development

Partnership governance raises the issue of corporate social responsibility. This concept, –, was introduced in 1972 at the Stockholm conference –, and distinguishes between civic responsibility (sponsorship, respect for the environment, etc.), ethical responsibility (respect for universal moral values), legal responsibility (compliance with laws, codes and standards) and economic responsibility (equitable distribution of the value created between stakeholders). It is rooted in various currents of thought (see 4 ).
