ABSTRACT

Industrial systems are composed of a series of processes which lead to conducting real-time actions on machines. This article commences with a presentation of the operation of these systems via an analysis of the current context. A paragraph is then dedicated to the study of the automation of this system which allows for a more elaborate reactivity. Integrated automation is also analyzed with its multi-objective coordination offer. In conclusion, a study of the capacities of reactivity and of the operating tools is provided.

 INTRODUCTION

The new Industrial Systems Management section is open to all engineers involved in the design and operation of production systems, even if they are not specialists in automation or information systems. While it remains true that the requirements formulated for increased automation of production systems are still strongly associated with the contributions of industrial IT, this is no longer the major element. The expected answers lie more in the implementation of means of reactivity and control, whether due to the competitive evolution of companies or to the galloping complexity of systems that are not always fully mastered.

The aim is to initiate and validate a spirit of integration of methodologies, resources and tools for the design of reactive automated systems. This approach overturns the object of automation, still referred to as automation (science of automation). The aim of the "Industrial Systems Control" section is to structure current knowledge of the evolution of automation by describing the scientific and technical context of the subject and systematically referring to essential references.
