INTRODUCTION
The product specifications for a new vehicle are part of Renault's design logic, 48 months before the vehicle goes to market. The aim of this reference document, the fruit of upstream documentation with the company's main departments (research, manufacturing, quality, design, purchasing, etc.), is to describe the vehicle's product objectives within a framework set by internal profitability conditions (entry ticket, cost price, asset utilization, etc.) and external market forecasts (penetration, sales price, geographical coverage, etc.).
These specifications mark a milestone in the development process, immediately followed by a quantification stage (objective and/or subjective): the functional performance specifications (CdCF).
The sample product specification detailed below was used to create the Renault Mégane program (code name X64).
