8. Operation, maintenance and safety of pneumatic systems

For further details, see EN 741: Continuous handling equipment and systems – Safety requirements for systems and their components for pneumatic handling of bulk materials.

The instruction leaflet must comply with paragraph 5.5 of EN 292-2 and must include the information mentioned in 1.7.5 of annex A of EN 292-2.

The following information is also required:

  • system layout and block diagram (PCF: fluid flow plan);

  • special instructions for equipment such as vacuum pumps, compressors, booster pumps, rotary valves, filters, etc. ;

  • essential features of the system ;

  • material flow rate (instantaneous flow rate, average flow rate),
