Palletizer throughput is best expressed in number of packages per hour, as this is more precise.

To establish the throughput of a palletizer whose transfer unit is the layer, it's best to check the number of layers the palletizer can produce and multiply by the number of packages per layer.

You can also time the time taken by the device between two vane outputs: this is the instantaneous flow rate.
