
1. Facade maintenance device (AEF)
AEFs (figure 1 ) are intended for permanent installation and maintenance of a specific building or structure.
AEFs consist of a platform suspended by means of metal cables from a suspension structure located on the terrace, which is generally a motorized carriage housing the various lifting, translation, orientation etc. mechanisms, and moving on rails or a suitable surface, such as a concrete track.
For low-rise buildings, other types of suspension structures can be envisaged, such as monorails equipped with carts, or Davit jibs fixed to terraces. Both types of structure are suspended from a platform equipped with hoisting winches.
AEFs generally operate over areas where the public has access.
