3. Regulatory aspects
Variable-level suspended platforms are machines designed for lifting personnel within the meaning of the Machinery Directive 89/392/EEC and its amendments 91/368/EEC, transposed into French law by Law 91-1414 of 12/31/1991 and the three implementing decrees 92-765, 92-766 and 92-767 of 07/29/1992.
Such equipment must undergo a type examination by a notified body before being placed on the market.
The user must check that he is in possession of the certificate of conformity to the Machine Directive issued by the manufacturer; this certificate must include the name of the body which carried out the type examination and the number of the relevant file.
The equipment must be accompanied by an instruction manual in French for assembly and use, and must also bear technical plates, a warning plate and an identification...
