From now on, our aim is to complete this database, using bottles of certified origin direct from Bordeaux's most prestigious châteaux, for key periods of process change and for vintages with the highest market value.
If we are now able to highlight major technological developments through the study of major and minor glass constituents, the next step will be to take a closer look at trace elements that are not voluntarily introduced into the manufacturing paste, but are contributed by the raw materials used. It is highly probable that this multi-element composition of traces is indicative of a particular casting and undoubtedly specific to a particular manufacturing source. In this way, we can hope to obtain a "signature" for each batch, and thus, depending on a château's source of supply, greatly reduce the margin of uncertainty that exists regarding the bottling...
