7. Pyromechanisms
Pyrotechnics are used to manufacture special mechanisms requiring high reliability and rapid, controlled reaction times. This type of pyromechanism can be found in safety applications such as airbags in cars, or fast-acting valves to stop a flame or shock wave in a gaseous medium .
These devices contain a small quantity of explosive, enabling them to generate limited areas of effect, or even to contain all effects.
