We have reviewed the different types of energetic materials. Achieving the right decomposition regime requires the right device to initiate the reaction. We will therefore list the different types of products according to their applications, and discuss how they are manufactured .
6.1 Categories
Different types of energetic materials have two different decomposition regimes: combustion and detonation. To achieve these two regimes, different initiating devices are needed: igniters and detonators.
