3. Convergence analysis of asynchronous parallel methods

The convergence of asynchronous parallel methods can be analyzed using two main approaches: contraction techniques and partial-order techniques based on the discrete maximum principle. Mention should also be made of convergence analysis using nested sets, which unifies the two previous approaches without, however, providing any additional practical criteria to be implemented.
