2. Examples of how a Raman spectrometer can be used to authenticate wine bottles

An intensive bibliographical search shows that no comprehensive study has been reported on Raman spectroscopy of wine, with the exception of a single recent article for which the interpretations are not very detailed. To date, this technique has been largely under-exploited, despite its great potential in the fields of authentication and quality control. Nor is there any literature on LIFS spectroscopy applied to wine. Fluorescence emission has, however, been studied using spectrofluorometers (without lasers), to our knowledge by only a few groups
