4. Potential process applications

4.1 Fuel cell dihydrogen supply

The main advantage of the hydrolysis reaction is that it enables hydrogen to be produced autonomously and on demand. This technology can be used to power a system independent of the electricity grid, such as a generator in a remote location, or for mobility applications. In this context, hydrogen needs to be produced on demand. This requires a complete system comprising a hydrogen generator, a fuel cell, control electronics and an electrical load (figure 13 ).
