4.1 Construction and expertise for a new ecological solution

Ecological grazing with herbivores calls on the knowledge of a wide range of professions: livestock farmers, ethologists, ecologists, project managers, landscapers and landscape architects are all involved. In practice, however, interdisciplinary collaboration is rare, and there is a lack of cooperation between the agricultural and ecological worlds. As a result, this new ecological solution remains poorly documented, and there is no stable, common frame of reference for organizing the practice. As a result, there are often shortcomings in the projects implemented: eco-grazing programs are almost never monitored ecologically by scientists, trained landscape contractors sometimes lack ethological knowledge of their animals,...
