5. Biological properties of water
Water, oxygen and carbon dioxide all contribute to creating favorable conditions for the development of living organisms .
There is a biological cycle, during which a series of exchanges takes place thanks to water. Water is the main constituent (by volume) of living beings (see some figures in the introduction to this article), and more particularly of the protoplasm of all cells. Water also makes up the bulk of our food (70-95% of most meat, fruit and vegetables).
It's clear, then, that "water is life", but we need to clarify some of the many relationships that exist between water and living beings.
