INTRODUCTION
Among wastewater treatment processes, reed filters have enjoyed considerable growth since the late 1990s. While the discharge levels of this process are excellent in terms of carbon pollution and nitrification, its performance in terms of phosphorus retention is minimal over the long term and sometimes insufficient. There are various ways of increasing phosphorus retention, including the use of specific materials.
