6. Application areas
The Turboxal-2™ is a highly flexible unit capable of operating with oxygen as well as air, or even nitrogen. It can be used to treat urban and industrial wastewater, whether in built-up basins or natural lagoons. In particular, it has been successfully used to treat effluent from the food, paper, chemical and textile industries.
Generally speaking, the oxygen needed to operate biological purification tanks comes from oxygen in the air. In some cases, however, it may be necessary or even more advantageous to use pure oxygen. As the partial pressure of oxygen is very high, oxygenation capacities are five times greater than those available with air, making it possible to meet the needs of a more concentrated biomass subject to higher volume loads.
