8. Conclusion - Outlook
This overview of processes for treating air loaded with odorous molecules is by no means exhaustive. The aim of this selective approach is to present the main technologies (transfer - destruction) used for industrial deodorization of air flows. It should be noted that there is no such thing as a universal process, and that each treatment has its own advantages and disadvantages in specific situations.
Research and development work is currently leading to interesting innovations in this field. It is worth noting the desire to intensify and couple existing processes to achieve better performance with reduced dimensions. Emerging systems include cyclonic condensers, cold plasma techniques, new adsorbents and catalytic oxidation. For the time being, these treatments are used in scale models or small units.
