6. Determining a VOC material balance for a gaseous emission
Once the mass balance has been carried out on the industrial site, it is often necessary to reduce VOC-laden gaseous emissions for a specific case or for all emitters. In such cases, a systematic approach is required to define the polluted gaseous emissions, both qualitatively and quantitatively. An overall procedure is shown in figure 6 . This method requires more specific on-line or delayed measurements, which are presented in figure 7 . A few steps in the procedure can be described in detail.
