2.1 Dealing with water – leachates
The solution will seek to eliminate or reduce the flow of water coming into contact with the waste: control of run-off water by creating a slope, surface containment to limit meteoric infiltration, lateral containment to avoid groundwater ingress, or even treatment of leachates when it is not possible to eliminate their production.
