5.1 Inspection law
Classified facility inspectors can visit facilities under their supervision at any time (article L. 514-5 of the Environment Code).
These visits do not constitute searches or home visits within the meaning of article 76 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure, although they may be carried out day or night, without prior consent from the operator or notification of the public prosecutor.
