7. General conclusion

Site containment techniques have evolved considerably in recent years, benefiting on the one hand from effective improvements in the prediction of pollutant behavior and migration, and on the other from a better understanding of the long-term behavior of containment materials.

In France and Europe, there is an operational chain of qualified partners capable of implementing :

  • tried-and-tested execution techniques for a wide range of underground and foundation projects;
