9. Conclusion

Managing solar energy through glazing means capturing the sun's rays in winter to reduce heating requirements, with the possibility of eliminating overheating, or reducing the transmission of this energy in summer to reduce air-conditioning needs.

Glazing alone is not always enough to ensure thermal comfort in both winter and summer, and additional solar protection is sometimes desirable.

Movable blinds seem to be the most effective, provided that occupants use them wisely. In particular, don't wait until the room is overheated before lowering or closing the shutters. The occupant must anticipate the need for solar protection.
