6. Information security and privacy
As cooperative ITS are based on digital communications, it is essential to guarantee the security of exchanges, so as not to compromise SR. The mechanisms put in place must cover three risk dimensions to the best of their ability: privacy, data and communications security, and ethics . The various exchanges must be validated for integrity and plausibility, authenticated and authorized (ETSI TS 102 731 ). They must not cause damage, as each piece of equipment is responsible for its own behavior.
