9. Conclusion and outlook
ITS-C is a vertical domain in the digital world of IoT and machine communications more generally. The first version of a set of standards and specifications for equipment and system interoperability has been drafted, defining the basic system - ITS-S - and its main components in all the layers (Access, Networks and Transport, Facilities, Station Management, Security) of a model common to the various international standards bodies. Validation and certification mechanisms have been set up, and in some cases are already operational, to validate the correct operation of equipment.
