4.1 Detection of pulmonary disorders
All it takes is a cell phone and suitable software to turn a pedometer into a medical tool. The "GaitTrack app", loaded onto a cell phone and linked to a pedometer, records a person's step metrics based on eight gait parameters. Determining potential chronic cardiopulmonary, muscular and neurological risks enables the detection of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). According to the authors of the medical study carried out in Illinois, the way you walk is consistent with vital parameters such as temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate and oxygen levels in the blood.
