1.1 Robot definition
The general definition of a robot proposed by Norbert Wiener is as follows. A robot is a system combining three interacting characteristics:
perception, i.e. the machine's ability to use its various sensors (cameras, microphones, temperature or humidity sensors, etc.) to retrieve information about its environment, whether or not it is visible to humans.
