3.1 Tools and methods

The transposition into French law of the June 2002 European directive on environmental noise requires the creation of mainly calculation-based maps. These maps can be produced partly on the basis of estimated or even flat-rate data, compatible with an accuracy of the order of 5 dB(A) per class (see methodological guide ).
