5. Electromagnetic generators

5.1 Operating principle

Electromagnetic generators, on the other hand, are based on electromagnetic induction, a principle demonstrated by Faraday. The electromotive force can be generated by the relative movement between a coil and a magnet creating a fixed magnetic field, or by a temporal variation in the magnetic field.
