2. Examples and industrial applications

Here, we provide an overview of the MEMS sensors on the market. The landscape is evolving, and there are many manufacturers, so it's not possible to list them all.

2.1 Accelerometers

Single-axis, dual-axis and tri-axis accelerometers are available on the market. The conditioning electronics are generally integrated on the same chip or in the same housing. This enables acceleration to be converted into an analog or digital signal.

Leading accelerometer manufacturers include ST-Microelectronis, Analog Devices and Bosch (see table 4 for examples).
