Overview
FrançaisABSTRACT
Terahertz impulse spectroscopy provides a considerable amount of information on physico-chemical systems: refractive index, absorption, relaxation time. Concerning the terahertz wavelength spectroscopy (THz = 1012 Hz 1), it is possible to measure directly the electric field of the pulse and therefore its spectrum in amplitude and phase. The full dielectric response can thus be extracted. In the relative short term, by combining imaging and broadband spectroscopy, terahertz waves could be used for innovative applications. This article reviews various state-of-the-art terahertz spectroscopy techniques.

INTRODUCTION
Abstract: Pulse spectroscopy provides a considerable amount of information on physico-chemical systems: refractive index, absorption, relaxation time. In the case of spectroscopy at terahertz wavelengths (1 THz = 1012 Hz), it is possible to measure the electric field of the pulse directly, and thus its spectrum in amplitude and phase. The complete dielectric response can thus be extracted. In the relatively short term, by combining imaging and broadband spectroscopy, terahertz waves could find innovative applications.
Abstract: Time domain and Time dependent spectroscopy are powerful tools for physical and chemical analysis. It gives access to numerous information such as refractive index, absorption, relaxation time. In the terahertz range (1 THz = 1012 Hz), the spectroscopy has a key advantage since it is possible to directly measure the electric field of the pulse, and thus the spectrum in amplitude and phase. In relatively short term, by combining gimaging and broadband spectroscopy, the terahertz waves could find innovative applications...
