3. Side-splitting speckle interferometry or shearography
3.1 Principle
The term shearography is, as already mentioned, a commercial term that has become commonplace. Anglo-Saxons also use the term speckle shearing interferometry or related terms. In French, we could simply say "interférométrie différentielle", since this method, as we shall see, measures the spatial derivatives of displacements in a given direction.
