5. Conclusion
In this article, the measurement of the specific absorption rate in a normative context is presented. The societal impact of new telecommunications technologies has led governments to legislate exposure limits to electromagnetic fields to protect against their potential harmful effects on the health of workers and the general public. International standards have been established to verify compliance with these limits, and to demonstrate the conformity of communication devices such as cell phones, which are intended for use close to the human body.
