1. Missions

Cofrac, the French Accreditation Committee, a non-profit association governed by the law of 1 er July 1901, was set up on April 29, 1994 at the initiative of the public authorities, with the support of professional organizations and consumer associations. An agreement signed in December 2003 between the President of Cofrac and five ministers recognizes Cofrac as a "national accreditation body".

According to its statutes, Cofrac's purpose is to :

  • assess and accredit, in accordance with applicable European and international standards, testing and calibration laboratories, inspection bodies, certification bodies for management systems (quality, environmental), people, industrial and agricultural products and services, and environmental...
