3. Measuring equipment management
The aim of measuring instrument fleet management is to build up and maintain a fleet that meets the company's needs.
Throughout the life of the instrument, the calibration laboratory will have to intervene on the equipment. Three phases are generally identified:
instrument acquisition ;
acceptance, commissioning and monitoring of equipment;
metrological confirmation, including calibration or verification of measuring instruments; this 3rd phase is carried out at set intervals.
ISO 10012 introduces the notion of "metrological confirmation", and it is important to define it here.
