2. Holographic interferometry
Holographic interferometry is capable of giving a very precise idea of the real, global behavior of a mechanical assembly or a physical phenomenon in general, without disturbing it (non-contact method). This assembly, or phenomenon, can be very small and possibly inaccessible (in which case holographic microscopy and endoscopy are used) or very large (vibration of a section of engineering structure or a car in operation, for example).
It is not only a global visualization method, but also a quantitative measurement method for static or dynamic three-dimensional phenomena. It is also a high-performance method of non-destructive testing.
