2.1 Introduction
When a product is designed, the design office draws up the overall drawings of the mechanism from the specifications, as well as the definition drawings for each component.
The definition drawings, drawn up taking only functional constraints into account, are then communicated to the methods office, which is responsible for producing the various parts, and to the inspection department, which is responsible for validating the conformity of the parts produced.
Experience shows that the field of product geometric specification, which is generally the responsibility of the design office, and the field of production control (technical aspect), which is generally the responsibility of the methods office, constitute two worlds...
