4. Normative aspects of albedo measurement

There are few French, European or international standards for albedo measurement.

4.1 ASTM E903 and NF EN 4593: spectral measurements

These two methods are similar. An integrating sphere with an inner diameter greater than 150 mm must be used. Spectral hemispherical directional reflectance is measured. Once this data has been collected, the reflected energy fraction is calculated for each wavelength of the solar spectrum, weighted by the spectral solar flux:
