5. The importance of specifications in the gripper selection process

The choice of a gripper is a key point in any robotization process. It is the central element in the robot's interaction with its environment. The desired level of interaction with the environment is therefore decisive in the choice of a gripper solution.

The choice of gripper depends on the target task(s). In the latter case, you should opt for either :

  • a solution involving several specialized grippers, each dedicated to a specific task (tool changer or multifunction gripper);

  • a more flexible single gripper solution, capable of adapting to all tasks.
