4. Conclusion
The aim of this article is to provide a concise overview and current synthesis of the field of microrobotic system design, modeling and control. As mentioned throughout this article, a large number of innovative devices and principles of action are implemented in these systems, underlining the important need for multi-disciplinarity in the design of microrobots. Designing and building such systems requires knowledge not only of mechanics and robotics, but also of physics, electronics and control, as well as a certain mastery of microtechnical and microelectronic manufacturing processes. This multi-disciplinary approach makes it a complex field with considerable scope for innovation.
