4. Similarities in development stages

Having set out the various stages in the creation of a software product, we examine how plagiarism can be tempting at each stage, and the similarities between software products.

4.1 Design

This situation arises when the author of a software product has started with a new idea, designed a truly original product on the basis of this idea, and feels that he has been cheated.

The number of cases that reach the courts in this context is low. For this type of litigation to occur, two conditions must be met: the market must be highly targeted, and the product must be highly original in its conception.
