6. Representative example

The model was validated on two installations:

1) a mess hall (including a 1,000 square metre hall) serving a military base (figure 1 );

2) a teaching facility, comprising two conference halls.

The aim of the central building unit at the Ministry of Defense, which maintains these facilities, was to rehabilitate them to a level not exceeding 1.2 million NIS (New Israeli Shekel) during the coming calendar year.

The local unit required additional constraints, concerning the plant's performance level and service life, as follows:

1) Refurbishment must enable these two buildings to be used at an average but still acceptable level of performance (3 on a scale of 5);
