1.1 Steering concept

According to J.W. Forrester, "the feedback loop is the fundamental structural element of systems. Dynamic behavior is generated by feedback". In his analysis of the strategic management of companies, M.J. Avenier pursues this line of reasoning by considering that steering a machine is first and foremost a matter of choosing an objective, in relation to which the best trajectory is defined.
